Example scene featuring import of STL file.
The STL (STereoLithography) file format, created by 3D Systems in 1987, is the standard, widely-adopted format for 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
It represents 3D models as a mesh of triangles (tessellation) defining surface geometry, lacking color, texture, or unit data. STL files come in binary or ASCII formats, often with the .stl extension.
