What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. The cookie will help the website, or another website, to recognise your device the next time you visit. Web beacons or other similar files can also do the same thing. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way. There are many functions cookies serve. For example, they can help us to remember your username and preferences, analyse how well our website is performing, or even allow us to recommend content we believe will be most relevant to you. Certain cookies contain personal information – for example, if you click to “remember me” when logging in, a cookie will store your username. Most cookies won’t collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use our websites, or a user’s general location. If you do disable our cookies you may find that certain sections of our website do not work. For example, you may have difficulties logging in or viewing pages.
What sort of cookies does the tehnif.com website use?
We utilise other cookies to analyse how our visitors use our websites and to monitor website performance. This allows us to provide a high quality experience by customising our offering and quickly identifying and fixing any issues that arise. For example, we might use performance cookies to keep track of which pages are most popular, which method of linking between pages is most effective, and to determine why some pages are receiving error messages. We might also use these cookies to highlight articles or site services that we think will be of interest to you based on your usage of the website.
We use functionality cookies to allow us to remember your preferences. For example, cookies save you the trouble of typing in your username every time you access the site. We also use functionality cookies to provide you with enhanced services such as allowing you to watch a video online or comment on a blog.
How To Control Your Cookies
Please remember that any settings you change will not just affect cookies placed from visiting websites owned by Tehnif Software. These changes will apply to all websites that you visit (unless you choose to block cookies from particular sites).
Managing cookies in your browser
Most modern browsers will allow you to:
- See what cookies you’ve got and delete them on an individual basis.
- Block third party cookies.
- Block cookies from particular sites.
- Block all cookies from being set.
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser.
You should be aware that if you block cookies completely many websites will not work properly and some functionality on these websites will not work at all. If you are primarily concerned about third party cookies generated by advertisers, you can turn these off separately. This is discussed in more detail below. The links below take you to the ‘Help’ sections for each of the major browsers so that you can find out more about how to manage your cookies.
Social Network Cookies
Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter place cookies to allow you to use their social sharing features. To read more about their cookies read their respective cookie policies.
Managing analytics cookies
It is possible to opt out of having your anonymised browsing activity within websites recorded by analytics cookies. Tehnif Software uses the following analytics providers and you can opt out of their cookies by clicking on the following links. Please note that this will take you to the relevant third party’s website and generate a ‘no thanks’ cookie, which will stop any further cookies being set by those third parties.
Please remember that if you choose to opt out cookies from a specific company, it only applies to the web browser on the device you are using. You will therefore need to follow the same process on every device you use or different web browser that you use to exercise the same choice.
